Hermitage Amsterdam is open to the public again

Hermitage Amsterdam is open from Thursday to Sunday

The Hermitage Amsterdam is open again for public. Three exhibitions are on view: Jewels: The Glitter of the Russian Court, Portrait Gallery of the 17th Century and WOEST – Willem van Genk

Unfortunately, we are not yet open every day of the week due to COVID-19. We hope to reopen for our visitors on Monday and Tuesday in the short term. Do you want to stay informed? Sign up here for the newsletter.

We have taken every possible measure to ensure a safe and pleasant visit. The exhibition is only accessible with an e-ticket for a specific date and timeslot. Tickets for the exhibition can be ordered online here. At the entrance desk there is currently no ticket sale.

Do you have a question about your e-ticket or timeslot? Check the frequently asked questions here.

Important: Access for online ticket holders only
Exhibitions are only accessible with an online e-ticket. Timeslots have been introduced to regulate the flow of visitors. Tickets are available online via the web shop. To avoid direct contact, no tickets are being sold at the ticket desk.

Make it a safe visit to the Hermitage Amsterdam together
In the current circumstances we are all required to follow new rules. We are counting on your co-operation. Do you have a cold or fever? Or do you live with someone who has a cold or fever? Unfortunately we cannot grant you access then. We look forward to seeing you back when you are healthy.

Corona measures at the Hermitage Amsterdam
Extensive corona measures have been implemented throughout the museum so that visitors can have a safe, one on one experience with the artworks. The one way viewing route, marked out viewing areas, ‘passing bays’ and designated resting points, allow visitors to maintain an optimal distance of 1.5 m from one another. Furthermore, the audio tour is available via a special app and there are numerous pillars where disinfectants are available. Our corona solutions are:

  • Admission for online ticket holders only
  • Groups: only couples and households, maximum 2–5 persons
  • Viewing areas and passing bays for maintaining an optimal 1.5 m distance
  • One way traffic: follow the route indicated
  • Audio tour available by app
  • Disinfectants available
  • Folding chairs available
  • Cards only at the Museum shop and the restaurant
  • Do you have a cold or fever? We look forward to seeing you back when you are healthy
  • Take care of each other

Entrance and floor plan
For your own safety and that of others, the Hermitage has implemented an adapted viewing route. The entrance of the museum has been moved to Nieuwe Keizersgracht 1, around the corner from the Amstel. The Amstel side is an exit only. Upon entry, you must follow the directions in the building. First, you are led to a scanning point to scan your online tickets. Then past the lockers, should you wish to stow your jacket and/or bag. The route towards the exhibition has been adapted to begin via the first floor. There is a special route for the less-abled; please ask our staff for assistance. Soon you can download the floor plan on our website in preparation for your visit
