The Hermitage Amsterdam is located on the Amstel 51.

By bike

The Hermitage Amsterdam is easily accessible by (OV) bicycle. The closest station to rent an OV bicycle is Amsterdam Central or Amsterdam Amstel. Click here for more information. There are enough parking places for your bike near the Hermitage.

Paid parking

There are a limited number of paid parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Hermitage Amsterdam. The nearest carparks with surveillance are located at the Parkeergarage Stadhuis-Muziektheater, on Valkenburgerstraat (Waterlooplein carpark), The Bank on Amstelstraat at Rembrandtplein, and Markenhoven on Anne Frankstraat near the entrance to the IJ Tunnel. Visit

By public transport

From Amsterdam Centraal station, take tram 14 or metro 51, 53, or 54 and get off at the Waterlooplein stop, exit Hortusplantsoen. Alternatively, you can plan your journey by visiting the public transport website


Get on and off at Weesperstraat; the group entrance is at Nieuwe Keizersgracht.

Please note: cars, buses and taxis cannot come in the immediate vicinity of the Hermitage. Are you being brought by car or taxi? Then use the address Nieuwe Keizersgracht 1. You can get out there in front of the entrance pole, then it is a minute's walk to the entrance. If you are disabled, you can ring the bell at the pole and request that you can be dropped off at the entrance to the museum grounds.


Get off at the Museumboot landing for the main entrance on Amstel. The hop on, hop off Canal Bus also provides a service with comfortable boats that operate according to a fixed timetable. WeParc valet service

At Hermitage Amsterdam you have the option of having your car parked by the WeParc valet service.

Simply download the iPhone or Android app and enter your arrival time. Get out at the entrance to the Hermitage and let one of the WeParc chauffeurs park your car in a secure car park and drive it back out whenever you choose.
